Why should I get my biomass boiler serviced?

It is essential to have your boiler serviced regularly in accordance with manufacturer's specification to ensure good, reliable and efficient operation of your biomass boiler. In addition, for any non-domestic boiler receiving RHI payments, it is now mandatory for each biomass boiler to be serviced at least once per year by a HETAS MCS040 accredited company and engineer. Failure to do so could mean a loss of RHI income.

How often do I need my biomass boiler serviced?

The frequency of servicing will depend on a number of factors including boiler run hours, make of boiler and type and quality of wood fuel. For high quality boilers, with medium usage, operating on good quality fuel, one or two annual services may be required. For lower quality boilers or boilers operating at high run hours or using poorer fuel, additional services would be recommended.
